Refund & Withdrawal

Effective June 14, 2026. This policy explains when you can withdraw, when you can get a refund, and how to start the process — across every paid service David Andrew Furniture (“DAF”) offers. Read together with the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.

1. The principle

You should never pay DAF for something we did not deliver, and you should never be stuck with a service that does not fit your situation.

The rules below give every paid service a clear refund path. Where two rules might apply, the rule more favourable to you applies.

2. 10-day right of withdrawal

Under the BC Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act, you have a right to withdraw from a consumer contract under specific circumstances. As a matter of policy, DAF extends a simple 10-day right of withdrawal on every paid service for which we have not yet delivered work.

For 10 days after your purchase, you may withdraw and receive a full refund provided that DAF has not yet delivered the deliverable, started the call, placed any third-party orders, or done substantive work on your behalf. If we have started, the section below for your specific service applies.

The 10-day clock does not extend any service-specific refund window that is longer (for example, the 14-day window on Lifeware, or the 90-day deposit window on a Project Engagement).

3. Written deliverables

Applies to: Room Sample, Rush Brief Review, Sustainability Report, Sourced Plan (Sample Plan), Second-Opinion Audit, Costed Comparable Plan, and Landing Brief.

Delivered on time

Non-refundable once we have delivered the deliverable to your email on or before the SLA stated at checkout. The deliverable is “delivered” when sent to the address you provided.

SLA missed

Full refund on request if we miss the published SLA — 5 business days for deliverables priced at $500 or less, and 7 business days for deliverables priced above $500 (excluding the Rush Brief Review, which has its own faster SLA stated at checkout). Email hello@davidandrewfurniture.com to claim.

Withdrawn before delivery

Full refund if you withdraw before we begin substantive work on your deliverable. If we have begun but not yet delivered, we will refund pro rata based on the work done — in practice this typically means a full refund.

Credit on engagement

Several discovery deliverables credit dollar-for-dollar against the 20% project fee or against a qualifying engagement if you sign within the time window stated at checkout. The credit replaces — it does not stack with — a refund.

4. Calls & consultations

Applies to: Discovery Call, Sourcing Counsel by the hour.

Reschedule

You can reschedule your call once, without fee, up to 48 hours before the booked time. Use the link in your booking confirmation or reply to the confirmation email.

Late reschedule

Reschedules requested inside the 48-hour window are accommodated where possible but may forfeit the fee at DAF’s discretion. Genuine emergencies are handled case by case in your favour.

No-show

If you do not attend the booked time and do not contact us, the fee is forfeit.

DAF cancels

If DAF cancels and we cannot offer you a replacement slot within 10 business days, you receive a full refund.

Sourcing Counsel hourly minimum

Sourcing Counsel is billed at $150/hr with a 3-hour minimum. Unused hours within the minimum are non-refundable but may be applied to a follow-on engagement at DAF’s discretion. Hours billed above the minimum are charged only for time actually used.

5. Project Engagement deposits

A Project Engagement deposit (from $1,000 to $100,000) opens a full procurement project and credits 100% against the 20% project fee on landed cost.

No work started

Full refund of the deposit if DAF has not yet started substantive work and has not yet placed any third-party orders or commitments on your behalf.

Work in progress

Prorated refund of the deposit for work not yet performed and for third-party costs not yet incurred. DAF will provide a written statement of work performed and third-party commitments made before any refund is calculated.

Third-party costs

Where DAF has already paid third parties on your behalf (sample fees, logistics deposits, workshop production deposits), those costs are passed through and deducted from any refund. We will not pass through anything we have not actually incurred.

Deposit-to-engagement window

Your deposit applies as a credit toward a signed engagement for 90 days from the date of payment. If you do not sign within that window, the deposit remains usable as a credit toward DAF services at our published rates, but cash refunds after 90 days are at DAF’s discretion subject to your statutory rights.

After the MSA is signed

Once a Master Services Agreement is signed for the project, the MSA’s cancellation and refund schedule governs in place of this section.

6. Lifeware membership

One-time enrollment fee

Lifeware is a one-time enrollment. You pay $499 once at the founding rate. There is no recurring charge, no annual renewal, and no subscription billing. Your membership does not lapse.

14-day refund window

Full refund of your $499 enrollment fee within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not yet redeemed a Lifeware benefit (for example, applied your member discount to a project fee, initiated a refresh, or requested a complimentary design or colour review).

After 14 days

The enrollment fee is non-refundable after the 14-day window. Your membership and all Lifeware benefits remain active. There is nothing to cancel.

Founding rate

Founding pricing is currently $499 one-time. This price will rise once DAF launches publicly — likely to $2,000–$5,000. Founding members keep the price they enrolled at; late arrivals pay the launch price.

7. Sourcing Intelligence subscription

Cancel anytime

You can cancel your Sourcing Intelligence subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future billing; you continue to receive briefings and access through the end of your paid term.

Mid-term refund

A prorated refund is available within 30 days of the most recent renewal if no briefing has been delivered during that paid term and you have not initiated a workshop introduction. After 30 days from renewal, the subscription is non-refundable for the remainder of the paid term.

DAF discontinues the program

If DAF discontinues the program during your paid term, you receive a prorated refund of the remaining term.

8. How to request a refund

  1. Email hello@davidandrewfurniture.com with the subject line “Refund request — [service name]”.
  2. Include the receipt or order email so we can find your purchase, and a short note on why you are requesting the refund. Reasons are helpful but not required.
  3. We respond within 7 business days with a decision and, where applicable, the timeline for the refund to reach your card.
  4. Approved refunds are issued through Stripe back to the original payment method. Stripe typically settles in 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

9. Disputes

We try to handle every refund question on email, in good faith, in your favour where the situation is ambiguous. If we cannot agree:

  • Claims under CAD $5,000. You may bring the matter to the British Columbia Civil Resolution Tribunal (CRT) for a low-cost, online resolution. civilresolutionbc.ca.
  • Larger claims. Disputes are resolved in the courts of British Columbia under the BC governing-law provision in the Terms of Service, subject to any non-excludable statutory right you have to bring a claim in another forum.
  • Consumer protection. BC residents can also file a complaint with Consumer Protection BC — consumerprotectionbc.ca.

10. Statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any non-excludable rights you have under the BC Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act, the BC Sale of Goods Act, or any other consumer-protection law that applies to you. Where this policy and an applicable statutory right conflict, the statutory right controls.
