Privacy Policy

Last updated May 2026. David Andrew Furniture ("DAF") is operated by Ben Lafreniere, based in British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy law.

1. What We Collect

We collect only what we need to fulfil your procurement engagement:

Contact informationName, email address, phone number (optional). Provided by you when submitting a brief.
Brief contentRoom description, budget range, style references, photos — everything you share through the procurement advisor or brief form.
Project recordSourcing Plan, delivery address, signed agreement, workshop information, and project history maintained throughout the engagement.
Payment informationPayments are processed by Stripe. DAF does not store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.
Communication historyEmails and messages exchanged during and after your project, including delivery sign-off and any warranty correspondence.
Website usage dataStandard server logs and analytics (pages visited, device type, referral source). We do not run invasive tracking or sell data.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To draft and deliver your Sourcing Plan
  • To place purchase orders with workshops on your behalf
  • To coordinate delivery and last-mile logistics
  • To issue and maintain your project record
  • To send transactional emails (brief confirmation, plan, delivery updates, payment links)
  • To respond to warranty claims and Lifeware refresh requests
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to your engagement with DAF.

3. Who We Share Information With

We share your information only as necessary to fulfil your project:

Workshops and makersYour delivery address and piece specifications — strictly to place and fulfil your order. Supplier identities remain confidential per your agreement.
Freight carriersDelivery address and item details for last-mile coordination.
StripePayment processing. Governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
ResendTransactional email delivery (brief confirmation, plan, delivery). Resend does not use your data for marketing.
BoldSignElectronic signature on your Sourcing Plan and service agreement.
VercelHosting infrastructure. Data processed within Vercel's platform.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

4. Data Retention

Project records — including your brief, Sourcing Plan, delivery confirmation, and project record — are retained for the duration of any active Lifeware engagement plus seven years, in accordance with standard business record-keeping requirements.

If you submit a brief but do not proceed to a signed engagement, your brief information is retained for up to 12 months and then deleted unless you request earlier deletion.

5. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information DAF holds about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Withdraw consent to non-essential processing
  • File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

6. Security

Project data is stored on Vercel's infrastructure with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Brief content is stored in Vercel Blob Storage. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe and never touches our servers. We do not log full card numbers, CVVs, or authentication tokens.

7. Cookies and Analytics

This site uses minimal session cookies required for the procurement advisor to function (conversation state). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. If we add analytics beyond server-side logs, this policy will be updated.

8. Changes to This Policy

We will notify active clients by email of any material changes to this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
